Atsuko Suetomi was born in Japan. She studied Koto at Takasaki Art Center College and Japanese Culture at Musashi University. After learning playing classical Koto ( İkuta version), he received private lessons from Tadao Sawai and Kazue Sawai, both of whom are very professional in modern Koto music world. The Artist, who gave a lot of concerts in Japan and in the other countries, can also play some Turkish musics. She often participates in music festivals both in Turkey and in many other countries. The albums, which were called “Like a Bird” and “Ege no Kazeni Fukarete-Ege Esintisi”, became very popular rehabilitation musics in Japan.
Atsuko Suetomi was impressed by the cultural and natural beauties, warm, welcoming, kind people of Turkey and decided to settle down to Turkey when she visited for a monthly concert tour on October 2005. She lived in Istanbul between February 2007-2009, in Izmir between 2010-2012; now lives in Ankara since 2012. She collaborates with Turkey's distinguished musicians and orchestras, continues her duty as the Chairwoman of Japanese Music Society Turkey, performs at charity concerts while strengthening the bridge between Turkey and Japan by means of music and friendship.
